Yea, I never even tried when I hit the bare minimum. I waited until I had all 50's.

Thanks for your input Yourgrandmother! Very interesting that even with such a high S&C you still have barely over 50% success rate. I'm starting to think Natural Philosophy is the key to it all.

Next batch is in, again with all 50's. 17 success out of 50, or 34%. That's the worst yet by far.

My first batch of trees is finally ready to strike cuttings from, and so are the indigenous trees I took them from to begin with. I finally got off my toosh today (well, I guess I sat on my toosh a lot :D ) and hit 75 S&C for that sweet sweet Horticulture. I am taking another round of 50 cuttings and will report back.

I'm not so good with maths and such, so I'm going to leave the formulas to others. My main goal here is to understand what to expect at certain skill levels.

Just keep plugging away at it folks! Sustainable wood is a wonderful thing :D Also, I misstated. The trees I had taken the first cuttings from have not regrown their cuttings, just the leaves. I've got another 50 in pots taken with 75 S&C, 50 NP and 50 F&W.

I planted my first trees couple days ago and am unsure of how long it takes before I find out if its either a success or fail - and I'm not sure what to look for. Wiki article mentions it is either harvestable as a stick or changes visual appearance but has no right-click to indicate you can actually do anything with it yet- you just lift it at this point and then I guess click on the ground where you want to plant it?

P.S. do you lose the pot when you plant it? If not what happens - the tree ends up in the ground and you are left carrying an empty pot?

it will either look like a mini-tree of the type you planted or a small branch. Yes when you plant the tree just goes into the ground and your pot is ready for more trees, endless trees!

I assume people will be planting trees inside walls from now on?

Oh, I'm sure they'll be used as a wall until it's nerfed or something better comes along. Anything anyone wants to grow for purity will be somewhere protected, though.
