well if 99% input equals 0% after update I would say that what you put into it doesn't matter.

You can't say that until you put 0% humus into 99% bean :)

We have to work our way up slowly by using the randomly generated values and build on that. Same as increasing purity of crops was at first. The difference now is that the cycle is way longer, involving trees. The tree involvment is quite demanding on proficiencies excluding the noobs.

The Elemental contribution of stuff chucked into a Compost Bin is the inverse if it's purity. 100% pure stuff only adds 1/10th of its value to the resulting humus.

The most important input to helping you jumpstart your farm's purity is Water.

Water -> Milk of Lime -> Clay

Gardening Pot + Water + Humus -> Wood

Water gets to add its value twice.

0% humus (didn't even look at the element as i wasn't aware of the patch) + 90% seeds = 0%!! crop
so.., yeah..., that sucked.

I'm interested to know if proficiencies play a role in water purity.
So far nobody mentioned this, only how high the purity was that they found.

The announcement included a list of caps. Water was not among them. I recommend you read the post, but none of the replies :D

How?
My 0% cabbage planted on 0% humus came out exactly the same.
I used the same element humus as seeds.

Are you looking at the elemental compositions? It takes quite a bit before it shows up as "1%", even if you're making headway with your elements and multiplier. Personally I haven't been paying attention to purity since the update. I figure I'll tackle that after I get my crops tiered up.

I was wrong sorry. Based my info on pre update planted fields. 0 humus = 0 purity no matter the seeds.

Just a quick reminder that you can get higher purity humus from 0% bins. Just forage until you find a decent source of the purity you are after (say 2 or 3 %, more if you have the time) and chuck it into the bin. The purity will take a slight hit, but it will allow you to then use that humus to plant seeds and trees.
