Just to add another item to craft, and some realism perhaps, to the game.
Cotton, cotton cloth and woodblocks or wood boards to make a bed. If you use the bed, then log off and are off for 8.. or 10.. however many hours when you log back in you have all your humors filled. And maybe learning ability is set at 100%.
Would this be overpowered? would it be useful? Perhaps it is not nearly as clever as I think it is. But if you need clay troughs and chicken coups and chests and WALLPAPER and baskets why not a bed? There could be a basic bed thats got woodblocks for feet and jute for the sheets and it only refills one bar, like your phlegm or blood. And then a fancier bed with cotton and whittled wood that fills all bars.
BUT. if you log in before the timer is up you don't get a bonus at all.

do you think beds would work and if so what should their usefulness be?

I like beds, but I think that having a bed as a homestead would be quite enough of an advantage all by itself. Maybe someday we will be able to lock doors to houses and you could have your homestead inside of the house...requiring some lockpick mechanic to get into.
