There are no plans for that. Current servers might be wiped at some point, but before that your character would probably be transferred to other servers.

Of course assuming your chars will live that long :D

The devs have stated that NO wipes will occur in the future. I doubt a server wipe would happen at all.

Please point this out.

The official statement is that wipes will be avoided if at all possible. Since it is still beta, even though commercial, it's always a possibility.

edit: to clarify what Procne was saying: the idea is that resources on a server are finite. You can only get so much lime, stone, and clay before they're exhausted. Foraging for lime and stone is an option, but once clay is gone, that's it. The idea is to eventually be able to move between servers at will. Once enough people leave a server, it can be closed down and a new one opened. The old one will be wiped and possibly restarted if necessary.

Thank you for the clarification! Is there a forum post where that was stated we can refer too? Also, are you the same MagicMan from MMOBomb / FreeMMOGamer ?

I don't think I'm familiar with either of those sites. The nickname, while not exactly common, isn't all that rare, either, which is why I stuck the ICT on it.

I'd have to do some digging as some of those statements are from when the game first went into "commercial beta" last summer. Given the amount of random chatter here about wipes and such will make it a bit tedious (I suck at Google). If someone is pretty good at it, the relative information should be from TotalyMoo or jorb sometime between May/June to August/September last year if I recall right. It should have been posted on this site, but may be on Paradox Plaza. There should be statements on there about contingency plans if a wipe is required. I'll see what I can find.

And thanks Azor. I had a brain fart when I posted that earlier.

With the new purity mechanics having no viable clay pits will be a pain. Having no viable lime quarries left would be the death knell though. With a reliable source of high-purity lime you can make high-purity clay from dirt. But if you have to forage all of your lime, well, you're not going to get very far with anything :D

Luckily there are sustainable ways to quarry lime, at least for now. See this thread.
