Personally I think this game had enough grind before this update, but now? Jesus Christ...

Yes, but
1)they must finish revamping alchemy first, so that a similar situation can't happen again.
and
2)they block char creation on the old servers. It isn't nice, but they must die, even if slowly. There aren't enough people to support many servers and we can't implement server travel with those anyway, otherwise we would unbalance things again.

Oooohhhh, server travel, right. Maybe make it to where old servers can only travel between themselves and new between themselves?

Well yeah, it sux now especially for newbies joining current worlds. I voted yes, but I'd rather wait a couple more week until more prominent gameplay elements have had their alchemy tweaked. Farming was the greatest of concern since it allowed the creation of superbiled supermen. Now it's not so easy, expertly detailed by Trenial.

Another reason why that in a beta, is a bad idea.

you people are retards, if they put a tourniquet on the old servers that is the same as a wipe.

wiping the servers will do nothing but piss off everyone that does not want to restart for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th time and the people ***** about "superbiled supermen" now will still have a character 10 notches below the curve shortly after a reset.

you also seem to forget that all of us who took the time to level high end crops are now just as ***** as everyone else is and can not plant them again until high end compost bins are ground out, like everyone else.

When server transfer becomes possible, which last time I heard was still going to happen eventually, will you still QQ when the giants come knocking on new servers? It's unrealistic to provide a new server just because people want to level up in peace away from marauders. Most who would like this idea have probably been killed recently or are looking for the opportunity to abandon ship and build a new, better designed base in a fresh atmosphere free from raiding for the time being. I also don't think enough people play to justify another server being created.

This isn't to say I'm inherently against the creation of new servers. I just think creating a new server in a knee-jerk reaction as the result of this update instead of expecting people to simply rebuild in an already low pop server (in the case of Plymouth) sets a bad precedent on how non-game breaking updates are handled. And despite what some may think, I do not think this update broke our previous style of play. Both the talls and the smalls will have to completely revamp their production strategies to obtain the higher purity food and materials.

Not saying there should be a wipe, but new worlds once most of the new alchemy stuff has been implemented.

Well, to be fair, the 100% pure seeds you guys have been playing around with for far too long now are on the EDGE OF INSANITY and were never intended to be so easily reachable to begin with. ¦]

Darworth, no one is denying you the chance to make a 'superbiled superman', if you play everyday then that's your prerogative to do so. But as loftar said, attaining high purity seeds was made far too easy than intended.

We all know that if there was a world wipe jorbtar wouldn't have a bucket big enough to contain your copious amount of tears from overflowing.

pretty sure i would just be ***** on everybody again within a week, only this time with renewed vigor on that aspect specifically instead of spending 80% of my time stocking vendor stands and building bases.

since all the seeds of worth currently in posession can not be used again until the owners acquire high end wood to keep from ruining them this change screws everyone equally and basically is a "mini wipe" that came in and erased the work those of us that ground out high purity farms put in because now we can not produce anything better than someone that started yesterday.

the only difference is some of us have high stat characters we worked on and some of you dont. most are not going to run those characters very often for fear of an internet outage or bad luck getting it killed.

this thread and all those like it is nothing more than the occupy wall street generation wanting the development of others reset so they can feel "even" for 2 days before they get left behind again and start ***** about something else.

What you're failing to understand Darworth is that they've been continually adding difficulties to the farming mechanics (getting rid of 1x1 bugs, etc...) for all of us who didn't start in August and September. All of you who did start then had it easy farming and getting your character's up and now have huge humours and it was easier for you to get there then it will be for me to get there, and even easier than for someone starting the game tomorrow to get there. This means you had a leg up on everybody else just because you started the game at it's easiest farming/baking/purity mechanics, and it will be immensely harder for us to catch you.

Yes you are affected the same as us, but your skills to find that high purity wood and foragables is also higher than ours and you will find it faster. Meanwhile, many of you early players have enough food stocked for weeks of raising your humours. The game is now harder for a player starting today to get to the point of your level while doing the same work. I'd say that the newb just off the boat now has to do twice the work and put in twice the amount of time just to get to your level of character development. And that is not a balanced game.
