Same is "true" for niche sites too. So it is not a mainstream disease exclusively.

1. Yes. Retarded people can't help they were born that way. You shouldn't laugh at people when they have no control over their condition. But don't feel pity on them, either. Most are blissfully unaware of their condition. Thus, even if they aren't truly mentally handicapped and could actually change if they wanted to, they're still too handicapped to be laughed at. It just wouldn't be polite.

2. You talk like there is something wrong with being an elitist jerk. You should feel welcome amongst your peers. Only when you strive to be better can one actually improve. After all, who are the ones calling the elite jerks? Those that can't get off their ass and work hard enough to get there, that's who!
