turkeys are awesome but give me Autumnal and grassland any day. grassland for insperationals and Autumnal for the next level of insperationals.

coniferous, just trees and things, well except the first time you see a turkey running around on someones charcoal patch outside of their claim and think, what do i need turkeys for ?

As you skillfully hunt down mushrooms :)

I looooevs me some autumnal forest, man. My first lame little lean-to settlement was right next to one. All the trees you need, mushrooms, chestnuts, singing old logs.
Certainly a great place to start.

Badlands. All that granite and all those snakes, it's beautiful.

Anyone who chose something other then coniferous needs to make a new character and see how much better it really is.

There is no "one better" as they're all missing something.

Maple leaves are overrated.

First char settled in woodlands and I do like it, abundance of mushrooms and grasses is useful; though it is getting a pain to haul trees to my base now I'm a bit more established. Once I get raided I'll make a new settlement in a forest, see how it compares.

only thing darkforest is missing is the ability to make hay which is fixed with farming.

coniferous bordering witch hat forest/grassland is best for a newb (it spawns hay, milkeweed etc so not a typical forest biome).

badlands in a mountainous ****** area is best for a vet that doesnt need to forage anymore and wants security.
