Certain solo purists would not consider any trade with any player to be consistent with "solo gameplay" (although they would allow to trade with non-player associated NPCs). Those are the purists though.

However, since you were publically in enough good terms with other people, you obtained extra protection by asserting that if anyone hit you, there is a significant probability that retaliation would come through your positive relations if possible. That extra protection was not gained through solo gameplay.

Okay. So even though I felt I had no backup or support, that fact that others might think others would back me up made me not qualify as a solo player. That's just stupid, no offense. For example, many people joke around and are on good terms publicly with Darworth, so therefore Darwoth is not considered a solo player either? Makes no sense.

When raiding a random base you always need to assume that they have potential allies, hermit or not. But that still doesn't make you a non-solo player

Politics, alliances, relations are all a part of a sandbox game. The game doesn't end in the client. Dallane even claims the whole forum is part of the game XD.

Colesie & Co had several rational reasons to help you whenever you asked; your "feelings" are irrelevant as to whether or not you were really a solo player such as the "solo player" portrayed in MMORPG.com.

As for Darworth: when he played in Plymouth, he was at one point very much isolated relationwise. That's why I considered him to be a possible candidate for the "solo player" paradigm, but I am far from sure if that is actually the case.

You need to keep in mind, that when you say "solo player" in MMORPG.COM, they mean in general that you have absolutely no positive relations with anyone else in the game. You mocked that poster and stated that you certainly succeeded as one, and I am now explaining to you why you are not a such "solo player".

It is a matter of semantics.

Who gives a *****? She plays by herself, and maintains as many industries as she wants by herself. Playing the game however you want by yourself is what solo play is and always has been.

I cheered for one side while jeering for another. So if I cheer for the (fill in football teams name), it means I am part of the team. Awesome. This is silly. I played solo. So does Darwoth. Don't care about the theories.

They really need to balance the forums, it's impossible to compete with these no-lifers who grind posts all day.
