Removing the player from minimap

Postby Rabidursus » Thu Mar 28, 2013 4:34 am

I'm not sure how this would work with custom clients though..

One thing that annoy me in this game is that you really dont need to be that aware of your surroundings, as long as you keep an eye on the minimap for those Red squares. You can never sneak up or ambush anyone.

The terrain is great for hiding and sneaking so it could work both defensive and offensive.

If you're foraging, you'll looking at the minimap. But it's pretty easy to forget about the minimap when just chopping trees or standing around in one's base.

While I have no doubt it was a problem, I am curious to know how this was abused.

it was modded in precisely for the reason you mention: in a game where losing your character is just a raider with C&A away, you really don't want people sneaking up on you unnoticed.

Then again, most of us never leave our bases with the important characters anymore :)
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Understand why you want this but might as wel ask to remove settlements from the maps too.
Bears, rabbits etc etc...

But original client is topdown so no sneaking anyway.

If you zoom in and look from "3rd perspective" you can see players before they show up on the map.

Why doesn't the OP just remove players from his own minimap?

Seriously, it takes like 5 seconds to do if that is what you really want.
