Gotta keep those livestreams coming though, they're great! Keep both fans and new players interested!

The general rule of thumb, if I remember correctly, is to multiply the number of users on during peak hours by 4 or 5 to get the approximate number of active players overall for a game. However, because this is a beta, that's not reliable. The day or two after an update you see a spike in users, and it drops back down again depending on how much was added.

I have to say that the recent world expansions (in the last month) has made the servers appear VERY dead.

Sure 1-2 hours radius from Boston/Roanoke/Jamestown you are likely to see some action but the recent map extension was nuts. It took a solid 2+ hours on run from the old corner of the map to the new one (no mountain climbing). Went exploring a full day with canoes and once we left the 1-2 hour perimeter of town did not see a single player / sign of life / claim.

I think for a game like Salem running into one player in the woods after two hours of hiking is player interaction. On my scavenger alt that's about how many folks I see on average.

Oh such a social game this is. ;)
My explorer is currently the only one who sees people, and I tend to leave quickly if I see a pale red square on my mini map!

Huh? World expansions? Was there any expansion to Plymouth's map?

i just think the darkness mechanics was change a bit, im no close or further from the darkness now than i was before the update
yea who needs "secure" trading, its not like this game would benefit from it, lets just kill the newbs instead as long as that's fun and people still join the game.

They are losing paying players with patches like the last one

Why would we ever pay for a 'limited pack' again if they release the same content months later, at ridiculous low ingame-currency prices ???

Salem is a very social game if you choose to join a community. It's just usually not wise to socialize with strangers in the wild.
