Actually, I requested that they drop the punkrock attitude. It was a joke, but you would only get it if you were my age and able to know what punk actually was before it became snooty kids with expensive amps. :) If you look at the devs olders video interviews, he talks in the same tone as some of those punk rock kids. Anyway, I doubt he lost any sleep over it being that I was pretty darn positive about the game.

Was REALLY anything different? (Other than the price of the amps/guitars?) Sometimes you get the Sex Pistols, sometimes you get Green Day, other times you get a garage band that breaks up because they got bored of the thing.

why make a joke a majority of your readers wont get and take for something else? Great journalism!

I've covered this 100 times: I'm not a journalist. I have no degree in journalism. I am an opinion columnist, a critic. And I have no idea how many of my readers got it or not. Our readers come from all ages and groups, a lot of them aren't even gamers! :)

Anyway, I'll be in tonight. I found some place and have been trying to build it up, but am a bit worried that I won't have time to do anything significant with it so I am concentrating on skills.

The Pistols essentially a boy band. Jones was cool, Cook was OK. Rotten is a dork still. Go for the Dead Boys vs. Green Day and that would be better. Green Day was always wayyyyyy to polished for my taste. I'm not down with the sneer rawk. Ewwww. lol

Talking about the Ramones is quite the cliche now, but damn they WERE the perfect band. :)

But man, Regina Spektor is a cutey. Just speaking generally. :) And Norah Jones? Holy schamoley!

Sorry for the derail! You can come find me in game and kill me for that. I have a back up character now! Muahaha!

Definition of JOURNALISM
1

2

Our loftar also said they you should not call them programmers because they don't have a degree either. Makes alot of sense.

While not all professional writers have degrees, they do maintain some idea of what their readers find funny or don't find funny. Even good amateur writers have this sort of knowledge. Now, I'm not saying your good or bad. That's for you to decide. I'm indifferent about writers and really only care if the information presented is reasonable if opinion and factual if news stories. However, if you can't understand your audience, you will quickly have none.

And yes, by definition, you are a journalist. The term is "amateur" or "hobbyist" as you don't get paid (I'm assuming--if you are, that makes you professional).

I wouldn't put myself through the hell of playing some of the games I play if I was volunteering. ;)

I think your criticism is spot on. I have clan mates who refuse to play the game because you get stuck on every little tiny thing in the game and there are a LOT of things to get stuck on. I think that a character should slide around objects instead of coming to a halt. I had to stop watching at about the point where you were trying to build a pile of wood but couldn't because you were clicking icons that were erroneously appearing because you had previously logged on a character capable of creating those things, which is yet another annoying bug. Made me cringe a bit.
