Bridges

Simple suggestion: buildable bridges to span rivers so that sleds (or toons that can't swim) can pass over them, while still allowing boats & canoes to pass under them.

That is the one thing this game is missing (well more than some environmental sounds ), environmental features.
Brick roads can be created, but a bridge, especially a long arched one would really bring in some tactics.
