Tresspassing

Postby BubbaMKII » Mon Mar 25, 2013 8:21 pm

I think i know how it works but i really want to make sure.
Around me there are a few, apparently, abandoned claims.
They do have a claim stone but when i walk onto it, nothing happens.
When i was walking around another area with an alt i ran into claims and it said "this land is owned by someone" so i didn't go on it
AFAIK i'd have to put on CA to go on them.
So, when i don't get that message the claim is abandoned and i can just take whatever is there without consequences?
I searched but i couldn't find something as specific and i just want to be sure/safe and not sorry.

Claims that you can walk on without criminal acts have run out of upkeep and thus ceased to function. So yeah, you can loot them with no worries.

Yes you can take from those claims safely. You won't leave any scents. Their upkeep is out.

How long does a claim stone have to be out of money before it disappears?

Nobody has reported a claim stone actually decaying or showing signs of decay that I'm aware.

So my lean-to is on a friends claim, and now I am stuck if I try to move out of my house it just says this land is owned by the player. I should be able to move since I'm his kin and he has allowed me there an everything, and I am already inside the claim so I can't even leave it I can't travel and I can't even log out. If I shut it down it just spawns me back inside the claim because that is where my house is. What do I do?

Ask him to set recheck claim rights/colors and your color in kin list again (and set them properly :P)

Need a topic split here.

Vodom, your friend needs to grant you "trespassing" rights on the claim. He does this in his claim screen. He needs to grant that access for the "color" he has you set to in the kin list.

If you can't get that worked out with your friend you can learn the skill "Trespassing" and turn on Criminal Acts, then run out of the claim. Once outside you'll need to build another leanto somewhere and set it as your homestead.

OP, keep in mind you can also destroy the claimstone if it is out of upkeep. This helps for those who may want the abandoned property for themselves, because you can then claim it yourself.
