Does claim stone make it obvious upkeep is due?

Does the claim stone smoke or turn red or something when you have unpaid upkeep ? Or does it just vanish ?

I left an alt on a claim which my main bought and moved on from but the alt cant open the claim stone to see the status of the upkeep

the claimstone itself doesn't, really.
It's just that when your claim doesn't have any upkeep left, stuff will start decaying (including the cliamstone)
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

I have never seen a claimstone that did decay. On the other hand how could I? It would already have been decayed.

If they don't have just one hp, you'd see them decaying over time. I've not broken one yet, so don't know how quickly they turn red.

they have plenty more than one hp, and I can see mine decaying as of now since I moved to a new claim, but maintain an alt in the old one for the compost bins, while i'm setting the new ones up :)

They are easily destroyed with low humour char.
