I don't know how to get on the game

I click, launch, and it asks me to log in, which I do. It then just refreshes the page. My password is correct because it doesn't come up with anything different.
I am not sure what I am doing since the log in is not taking me anywhere. Obviously I am logged on, but every time I open a new page in hopes of just using my current log in status, it once again asks me to log in and the whole cycle starts again.
Can anyone help me out? Other than 'play now' and 'launch' should I be clicking something else to start playing?

You talking about the forum or client?

Could be an issue with your web browser maybe?

here is the link to the java client you need to download in order to login and play.

You need to install Java, too (if it isn't already).

Im not sure why everyone is pointing all the new players to the default client which we all know isn't all that great.

Because if they have problems with the game, they need to use the default client for the crash reports and troubleshooting.
