How to Put Coal Clamps on Farmland

I've seen some mention of building coal clamps on top of farm land to maximize space. How do you set this up while still being able to get to the center of the field for interacting with it?

You have to use the ctrl key so you can move it pixel by pixel instead of having it snap to locations.
