Newbie: Someone locked the doors of my camp...

Postby Chimm » Tue Mar 19, 2013 12:15 pm

I am locked into my camp, because someone have put a lock on my doors and I can not go outside any more.

It was an unused camp with big stone wall and doors.

I am still a new character (about 17 phlegm). What is the best way to get out? I tried to break down the stone wall, but in one "Phlegm" run I didn't even get it 1% down. It is still at 0%. I do use Stone-Axe.

- I do have to break the wall or the door. Which one would be easier? Is it even possible for me?
- My food in my camp is definitely not enough. So should I port to Boston and try to get food in the surroundig?
- Should I even think of porting to Boston and walk to my camp? I have no idea how far this would be, because I took the port into the wilderness in the beginning and I am at some random place (Plymouth area). Then I would be outside of my camp and can get enough food to break into it again...

Jesus, I should have learned Lockmaking first. My new camp just started to look nice. A beginning garden, ...

you need at least 22.5 phlegm left to damage the stone hedge even a tiny bit. It becomes semi-plausible with 30+ phlegm. Your best bet would probably be finding someone with an excess of oatmeal crackers that can spare a couple (if you're on roanoke, i can usually help).

And yes, you probably should have gotten locksmithing asap. (on another note: you don't need locksmithing to apply the locks, so you *could* get someone else to make you locks the next time (make sure you trust them, though), since they could keep back a key copy)
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

So my only chance is to port to Boston and try to walk back to my home...? :o

I don't see how that would help, since your gates will still be locked. I said you probably need to raise your phlegm up to the point that destroying stone hedges becomes plausible (slow, time- and food-consuming, but possible). 30 should be plenty

Well I was thinking, that to level up I need to go foraging and so I have to leave my camp and port to Boston.

And when I could walk to my camp (in reasonable time), then I could work from the outside and gather food when I need it.

The world map is no longer available online correct? The wiki-link seems not to work. Would be nice to look up my location and see how far it is.

At a non-stop wander, be prepared to dedicate 3 hours to walk to your home from Boston. I recently mapped out a large lake my property is near and it took quite some time. 16 map-tiles = 1 mile.

are you sure you're using the right wiki? The link to imrielle's maps is still functional

Does it matter if I use a Stone Axe or a Metal Axe? And if so, what is the 22.5 phlegm referring to? The stone axe?
