Cooking sizzled slugs

What am I missing? I have an outdoor fireplace, but I can't seem to figure out how to cook the slugs. I can cook milkweed easily enough. No matter what I right click or left click it won't work. And it won't let me place them in the fireplace.

there's two phases to the fire, you need to right-click it during the first phase and then create the sizzled slug.

When I right click on the fire it brings up the fireplace. But no matter what I do with the slug, right click or left click or try to put it in the fireplace, nothing seems to work.

You have to lock onto the fireplace by right clicking it. Then using the sizzled slug recipe in your menu you click craft or craft all. Most things require you to open the recipe from your menu.

Gah! The recipe. Of course. That's a safety tip for you kids out there, lay off the vodka when trying new things in the game.

Light the fire, make sure the slug is in your inventory (not your backpack) and right click the lit fire. Once you're at the fire, go through your crafting menu to find the slug and craft it.
