I actually asked Loftar about sky iirc, and unfortunately "nice things" aren't a big priority right now.

Yeah, I've been hoping for a blue sky and farther horizon someday, so it looks more real. Probably not happening any time soon.

I zoom out a lot with ender's client, guess the only solution would be a fog to cover the edges

would be nice the ground was a bit curved like the surface of a tiny planet, along with fog and skybox it could enhance the gothic cartoon feel

I know that a sky would have to have atmospheric thickening near the horizon to be convincing and I also know that the default client won't even let you look at the sky (will it?) but even if the black background had a nice bright blue color to it instead it would look a lot better than the black. There are some tweaks I'd love to make to some of the game tiles but I failed at figuring out how to extract (decompile??) the image files so I could edit them.
