I think it's 50.
The sweat and blood shed by its people had established a strong foundation upon which the most powerful entity in the world would be built.

it's possible to take down a bear without being hit by him even once but it does take a lot of practice.

I don't make videos - the point is they have two attacks: one when they stand on their rear paws and the other "standard" one when they just take a swing at you. The standing one is very easy to run away from, the "standard" one is more tricky but it still does have a small "charging" time before the bear actually strikes, now if you just run back he will get you every time, but if you instead try to duck to the side of the bear while falling back he will miss.

Also the bears fighting algorithm is quite strait forward - they wander for a while then try to hit you then wander again and when you make an attack move they try to attack you (added to the ai of all creature to limit stump abuse). So the tactic is to run up to a bear and stab him (bears are so slow you can do it even now when they "try" to move away from you) then dodge his counter attack, after that keep close and the bear should stop after a few seconds so you will be able to stab him again... repeat until the bear is dead.

Wow very nice. That sounds like it'd work. Do you think I'd be able to kill a bear using this tactic at 40 humours

I've done it, but there isn't much room for error. Also, you can't have too much distance between you and the bear or he'll spam roar and KO you by fear.
