Planting a forest is possible just have to limit your expectations.

I could have probably made another main crafter in the time I spent on my forest. :(

Maybe make planting trees easier so the world does not run out of trees? Its like desert/plain around me.

I mean talking 200 in a skill... how can you reach that with the study ability going down, or are you talking about points?

You can craft inspirationals with pure iron or plants for better gain. Also there are plenty of cheap ones to use as resets. Wood shavings come to mind.

Just a note natural philosophy does jack squat on tree sprout %.

The only thing I've seen help it is Stocks & Cultivars.

Setting up my own town and iron works seems kinda intimidating.
Just takes time I guess

St/C helps twice, in the cutting and the potting. But, F/W should help with cutting and NP should help with potting. Maybe you didn't notice because it only helps with one of the two skill checks? If you have real data on this not working, you should bug report.

I went from 45 to 100 natural philosophy and did not see any increase, in fact I had an abnormal low yield from one of my last plantings.

This is based on 3 plantings with 50+ pots at a time.
