The follow command can be used to find out the location of someone's claim by way of triangulation. Multiple people will have to use the follow command from different locations on the map in order for this to work.

I do that with my friends. How does it become Abuse? Can you uh, access the follow button while being far away from people without them being in your party?

This sounds like an awfully rare situation to occur... first line to chart would be simple when you see them in city you can try to follow them and see what direction you travel once they port home. But the second line would seem to me pretty impossible. You would have to find the same person again in a location outside of town. I am sure the clear majority of people are either at town or at their claim, not wandering around vast open spaces where one might encounter them again and then follow them and see where they eventually port to.

It happens often enough that everyone ports inside buildings.

Actually yeah come to think about it some more I guess you just need the other player to walk a little bit around town, ideally you can follow them in the area outside of town as they forage local grass or something in the protection of the town and then follow them before they port home so you can draw another line from that point and get a thin sliver of a triangle but should be enough to pinpoint their location as long as you are extremely accurate in your charting skills :)

It certainly takes some effort to get to people this way. I guess it all depends on how much time you're willing to spend and how determined you are.

Although seriously - the world is not that big. If you follow someone and get just one straight line, draw that line on your map and then take your alt and scout all the territory that line goes through it is not much of an effort if you really want to hunt someone down....

How, exactly, would one triangulate with this without having the target's cooperation?
