Except not, he stole a lot of worthless things, if he was indeed that far away then making around 3 trips to steal low inspirationals clay lime and i don't know what else would not be worthy.

He doesn't come walking, he ports to a claim steals and then ports out.

For one thing you cannot port to town, your or any other homestead with a full inventory from out in the wilds and I doubt that he can fly since that isn't in the game either and the fact that the trail STOPS AT THE SHORE means he "probably" used a boat. At least if I was the one tracking that is what I would figure. And I from what I've been reading, takes at least three walls and braziers to even begin to slow down simple raiders, some who steal and wreck things just for the hek of it and some do it because they feel you are not bothering to properly protect your property.

As Procne pointed out he might be using 2 alts to do it.

now, Imagine i port to boston, scout nearby players and raid them then go back to boston to teleport back to my claim. Once the guy i raided logs back he is going to try to track me down but he won't ever be able to because im hours away from boston, he can't do anything about it yet i can keep teleporting myself to boston to raid him.

Stupid to think that you are smarter than those who played this game more than you.
Go by feet to the crime scene.
Pick up scent.
Go by the arrow.
Make homestead where the timer stops.
Teleport to boston. Repeat

Except if he is that far away scents would expire before you find him and then what if you and him are in the middle of nowhere

The argument has been made that porting with stolen items shouldn't be allowed to prevent this sort of alt abuse.

Wipe Boston off the map and introduce trading in AH available everywhere. Or maybe in a special building you can build. Teleporting goods is as realistic as teleporting people.
Somebody once wrote, "Hell is the impossibility of reason." That's what this place feels like. Hell

Boston has been a terrible idea from the get-go.

That's not enough, he would still be able to trash your stuff, steal consumables and silver.

This

ezdo7 wrote:The only thing that comes to my mind to fix this is that to be able to teleport to someone else's claim that claim needs to have an expensive building like an embassy or similar and the character who owns the claim certain high level skills and track not expiring after 10 charges but when the lead disappears from the place the crime was commited.

as for if someone wants to play with a friend scenario then you should have to write the password to port to your friends claim as the last step in character creation. Once done this you get a claim near his.

But we told you already - you can't teleport to someone's claim just like that.
What you propose is already implemented.

To start a new character at somebody's claim you have to use his HS secret (=password). And with established character you can only teleport to your own homestead or Boston
