Aside from the fun and the game effects it would fit the setting nicely. The "loup garou" is part of French Canadian folklore. See: http://yaiolani.tripod.com/loupgarou.htm. That version of the werewolf could be better suited to the game too. You have to craft the wolfskin pelt - could be witchcraft ? - then you transform into a ferocious wolf-beast with natural attacks like "bite" and "claw". The only thing you can do in wolf-shape is run around and attack animals or players. It consumes some humor. So the moment the humor is gone, you change back and - maybe - get knocked out.

for every possible problem there are solutions... the animals killed by the wolf could turn into wasted meat, or just eaten away entirely by the wolf...who knows in the future, when witchcraft comes along this could be considered

I definitely wanna give you a +1 for possible ginger snaps type thing going on.

I want more PvE mobs that make raiders divert their attention to some thing else.

Liches, Witches, Dire Wolves, Dire Bears, Scarecrows, werewolves, Pumpkin Head Mobs etc. would make me happy.
