Future of PvE

Postby MayflowerBlues » Fri Mar 08, 2013 4:24 pm

Is there some place that has a list of what the devs want to accomplish in different areas of the game in the future? I haven't been able to find it yet. In particular, I am curious about what they plan for PvE for this game. The crafting/building stuff is of course the core of it, and it's amazing, but I am a little worried about the lack of PvE challenge/foes as of right now. It would really spice up the game if we had to deal not just with other players in PvP, but also with more dangerous animals that attack and hunt us (cougars, wolves, lynxes, coyotes), aside from the very rare bears, and also in some cases hostile Native American tribes. But, right now it seems to be going the opposite, with the latest patch making the snakes less aggressive, which were the only common hostile mob in typical places. Again, I understand it's early, but I am just wondering what the devs plan for this long term.

There is no particular list of planned things. My best suggestion is to browse around the forums, watch the live streams, and read press releases and interviews. Don't forget there's still a bunch of information still archived at paradoxplaza.com in the Salem beta forums.

like magic said you got to look deep to find them talking about the future. Jorb and loftar don't post lot so its easy to find. Watching the live streams are you best bet to find stuff.

It's worth noting that nothing planned actually gets put in, unless its already half-done when said, and then the remainder of what's not done is put in as half assed as possible.

This is incredibly accurate. As someone testing from alpha, yes.
