Paint / Label Chests or Containers

Postby unclear_image » Fri Mar 08, 2013 6:56 am

I did the search function.

When you get going you have containers for every item in the game almost, plus overflow you get confused- yeah you can memorize where things are. But I was thinking of an easier way.

Allow us label all containers, for free, without any special mats, as long as we have literacy and... I dunno a scribing tool made out of flint or some nonsense.
labeling would do two things one when you mouse over the name shows up like all other items, and when you're looking inside the container change "wooden box" to whatever you named the box.

Paint can be made from berries the color changes depending on the color of the item you put in the extra slot.

i.e. 2 of any berries and 1 color item.
If it's a waxing toadstool you get red paint, if it's a blackberry you get purple paint, If it's a normal berry you get blue paint, seaweed is green, lillypad bulb is khaki, etc.

I think this is a good idea. I have in the past used slightly damaged containers for their reddish hues to distinguish them from others, but the ability to actually label things would be quite nice.

Perhaps a brush could be made from a sharpened stick and a plant fiber?

This is a good idea. Colors would be nice, but just the ability to name containers would be awesome.

I was considering earlier putting signs in front of some of my storage to help keep it sorted, but then there's signs everywhere in the way, and it wouldn't make that big of a difference since you still have to read the things, so I didn't.
