The following are mandatory for new players:

-Keep wiki window open for quick alt+tab searching
-Watch Eegore and gamerzakh YouTube videos
-Read Sevenless' guide
-Search Help forum for any other specific questions; if you can't find anything, just make a new post and usually someone helps you out within a few minutes. Seems like a really good community for that.

There are tut's on youtube for various aspects of gameplay. Also, using the search in forums is very handy!
