I think this update is an overture for an update with domesticated animals...so that meat would be a more precious commodity and thus increase the importance of keeping animals for meat...

i like the bit of realism going into this

just make the stone appear again at the impact position so we can use the same stone again... a stone bag would be nice for quick shooting, maybe the seeds porch could be used for stones too?

I just tested with a deer and it works nice, you aim at it with the mouse cursor, same as bullrun skill... the only catch is to remember to store your torch flame before equipping the sling and the sword

Or are going to add murder to some animals and we need range to hunt them... and to shoot down animals from trees.

Sad thing is now it is worth it to steal rabbit skins from noobs :/
I hope we will get second kind/type of leather made from larger animals only, so newbie rabbit skins won't be as valuable as deer hide or medium players with wooden/stone fence in their camps are going to robb 1 day old newbie leantos for skins.

Here is some feedback for U. The ANIMALS UPDATE SUCKSSSSSS. Crickets r impossible to hunt now. This is why HUMANS make TRAPS !!!!! Either give us trapping ability or change the animals back.

Update is great. Adds alot of realism. The only downturn of this is that you will be able to pelt a bear to death from a boat..

Domesticated animals will also likely be the main source of saltpetre for gunpowder. I suppose sulphur could be a byproduct of smelting, and we already have charcoal.

Historically humans WERE the main source in many wars in the 18th and 19th century.

I tested small game hunting, it's still easy, just slightly more annoying. You can either bull run them or just walk up close and agro them with stomp, it is slightly more tedious but nothing special if you know what you're doing.

I suspect the guard mode was added because we can't have nice things, every "nice" update has to be balanced out by something that's a pain the ass ¦] , thnx devs I think I'll have to steal coles or dallans avatar as the general buthurt you create is becoming one of the most entertaining features in the forum.

PS. jorbtar you really hate us don't you ;)

Edit: when you get down to it the devs could implement gun powder production today,, since this is a game and all complex systems are simplified (for example turning bars into, well anything, should quire the use of not only an anvil (we really should have a hammer) but also some type of furness to soften the iron before any production).

nitrade - turkey droppings
charcoal - we have
sulfur - that should be added when ever the mining systems gets some love, a work around could either be putting ore in a kiln (irl sulfur can be obtained by putting volcanic rock in kilns) or by simply adding it in pure form as a forageables in mountain regions (rock quarry) since you really can find it in it's pure form near volcanos (thats how it was obtained since ancient times).

9/10 rabbits dodge Bullruns from my testing. Getting close enough to stomp and start combat before they run out of range is a bit finnicky.

What exactly is the skill "small game hunting" for if you can't actually hunt small game? It comes much before any ability to defeat crickets, and now you can't even catch them.

New players will have a hard time indeed as now the ONLY source of silver available to them is Savage Charms.
