Rabbit problem

Postby Dobrutro » Thu Mar 07, 2013 7:07 am

Do the rabbits outside Boston region run away from player character? I seen nice spawn near my camp, trying to aproach them and they all the time running. Not that they just move randomly, they always run OUT FROM me. My character is not so ugly, yesterday rabbit hunting near Boston was without problem.

i'm confused, how can new players (not having range attacks) hunt now ?

Rabbits, but crickets too, are now fleeing away when away you close in, so you have no chance to land a single hit ...

This change has made it harder for new players to hunt small game. However, the slingshot will agro them so that they attack you and you can try to kill them then.

Slingshot takes some sharpened sticks and fiber, which means at least building a fire and whittlers bench. I don't think anyone knows, yet, what the skills are to unlock slingshot making. The devs are amused by making us figure this stuff out ourselves.

yeah just slingshot and time your next attack thrust with fencing or uppercut or punch. You will still 1 shot them basically i went hunting last night and got a full inv/bag of rabbits/snakes (snakes are the hardest).

Why are snakes the hardest?

I was getting the hang of hunting with the new ranged system yesterday. Its still easy to hunt small game as long as you have the slingshot and some rocks. Once you tag them with a hit they fight you like they always did before, even chasing you.

I also fought turkeys but not snakes yet for fear of being poisoned.

And no beavers yet for fear of a group of them gang banging me.

With any luck I will have a video up on this update tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully I can figure out exactly what skills are required.

Its the timing trying to get it exactly right for getting a killshot before they can bite you. Honestly i think i will stick o the rifle when hunting for them (1 shots them) and only reason i am still hunting them is for etterfangs/rainbow scales.
