I can sign up under this, its simple construction and dont do much bad if will be liftable. Same as with sawbuck, only if empty.

Good suggestion, but it has already been suggested. Take a look in the small suggestion thread. viewtopic.php?f=12&t=4151&hilit=drying Great thread for suggestions that are short and sweet and do not require conversing about.

once upon a time they were liftable...guess they decided it was better if they weren't.
So I highly doubt they will change it back,,

Why can you lift an anvil (weight wise) and not move around a drying frame :) or a sawbuck (size wise).
Should be possibru! It would help.

if I remember correctly, this was changed before drying racks required fibres to build (which is, frankly, a pain).
back then it was probably faster to just destroy the rack and place it from the building heads-up (with the shadow), since we didn't have the shadow of liftable items for placement yet.

So, i believe this might be up for re-consideration.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Yes exactly. They used to be trivial to make with just sticks so it did not matter. But now with plant fiber requirement they are a bit of a hassle to produce so being able to move them would be extremely kind to us.
