[project] Motte & Bailey

IMAGE HEAVY!

This is a Motte and Bailey.

And I intend to make one, with aid from my fine Finnish fisherman friend, InnocentFarmer.

Day 1

Initially, I needed to flatten the border of the ditch so that it would be of (roughly) equal depth.

And here, the motte begins to take formation, starting as a simple mound of dirt. InnocentFarmer is in the background, cooking fish.

Whilst digging I find a lot of worms. Worms are used for fish bait, and fish replenishes my Phlem. It's a pretty neat system.

An hour or so later, and I'm beginning to get a feel for increasing the height of the motte equally.

We've actually got so much fish that we need to make additional boxes.

...More to come!...

Interesting idea! I'd love to see it when it's finished. When I get properly settled, I might have to do something similar!

Well I've just been informed on the IRC by Dagoth that Labouring would be a worthy addition to aid me in this endeavor, so we're currently grinding spinning tops and Tastes of the new world/autumn. :)

Metal Shovel, plenty of fish and 14 Phlem. It's going relatively smooth. Labouring should make it quicker - the irony being that I could be labouring on the motte and bailey rather than trying to get labouring, right now. :lol:

An honor to be a part in this, although I am not doing almost anything else than fishing and some other minor tasks. The big responsibility is with Azkanan. I am sure that he can make it if he stops getting overrun by those crickets.

- Recent setbacks? Lost everything in my inventory for crashing out in the claimed ground, the bad thing is that I took everything that I saw as valuable with me. It seems to be that the game crashes when your party member leaves and you talk with no one being in the party.

Are you using Enders/AXPE client? Then report it in their section :)

I love this project. I've heard that if you get around 25 phlegm you can dig non-stop because the food fills you up quicker than you can dig.

Looking forward to more pics.
I never managed to figure out something clever for my signature on Paradoxplaza, and I doubt I'll do it here either.

So, current setback in the project is that I allowed one tile for a wall - turns out, a stone hedge requires two tiles... So I need to move my entire moat (so far) over by one.

Edit;

ps. I have in excess, worms, if anybody wants to buy them from me. I'm also finding some Traces of the Lost Colony.

I'll also gladly trade worms for Crispy Crickets, or any other phlem-replenishing food.

Edit2;

And so, I have created the outline of the base of the Motte! It's going to be huge D:
