Nope. No legal precedent for such a thing yet.

Last night, tribe stopped by; knocked down a dozen or so walls, destroyed a windmill, destroyed a townhouse, destroyed various other buildings, and took hundreds of ingots, and whatever else they could carry. Estimated market value of destroyed and stolen property is to the tune of about 50k silver. They knocked out my friend on his walk back from Boston, apologized, and walked with him to help him get back (until they had to log off, it's a long walk).

I just had to point this out, why would you claim to have soooo many iron bars yet only a few braziers, id like to believe they went against there word, but your story has too many holes.
1. Can pay treaty once but says cbf next 2 times.
2. Claims to have enough iron to build 50+ braziers.
3. Could have sold all of your stuff and been rich and easily moved and rebuilt.
4. No screens of transactions with paul (im being blackmailed im dam sure ill record them for proof)
5. Your on plymouth, what did you expect? a walk amongst the daisies?

Since silver can be bought with rl cash in this game (and any manufactured item has the potential of being derived in some way or another from rl cash spend) and since extortion is illegal in rl... is MM sure that they are not committing a rl crime by extorting players ingame for 'rl cash'?

Maybe this is a bit far fetched, I don't know, but I've found that when ***** with the law, it's best to try avoid having your defence resting on a plead of ignorance.

Yes, it is a bit far fetched. The nearest to this was a case in 2011 when a player in an online game physically threatened another player, who happened to live in the same neighborhood, into giving him in-game items. A judge found him guilty under the penal code. Take in mind that this is physically threatening as in face to face, which is very far from what is happening here. The extortion we're looking at in extortion cases would have to involve threatening to do physical harm, threatening to harm property, threatening to defame, etc. Furthermore in your EULA, clause no.2 states that all rights are sole ownership of Paradox, also refer clause no.7, where the various paragraph explains the nature of 'additional services'. Specifically in 7(d) it states that Paradox does not perform the exchange of in-game values and this is what differentiates the transaction as one for service as compared to selling property with value. So unfortunately, according to the eula (which you agreed with simply by playing the game), in-game items would not count as actual property, so no threatening of property would have been done. Of course, the only way to be sure is to take it to a judge and see what he/she has to say about it.

better not, rolling hay could be construed as some sort of felonious assault by the same type of retard that can not discern between video games and the real world.

gang/mob action is a sentencing enhancement, stop trying to make up additional charges to be used against folks when the video game police arrests them for stealing your seaweed mask and basket of rabbit meat.
