I doubt your character is advanced enough for you to worry about being KO for 24 hours. Most people will send you home.
I went to sleep last night with it still KO'ed fearing the worst. Tried logging on this morning to check on it and the only option is to create a new character, so I assume I've been ganked which wasn't unexpected. You have a strangely optimistic outlook.

I was definitely aware that going around stealing and murdering people would get me tracked down and killed. What was very surprising to me was firstly that trespassing ate my stats and secondly that dying on the claim KO'ed me for 24 hours. I think that if a warning is added it should address both of those effects. I should reiterate that I was on some small, abandoned looking claims with no walls or defenses. I was merely looking around. If I had seen a brazier or torch shooting me, I would have nothing to complain about because the damage would have been obvious. A red flashing outline due to taking damage or a heartbeat sound when my stats became low would have also probably sufficed.
