It's a fun game, but PVP and permadeath games are not for me. Like literally everyone else in the world, I have a limited time online. That limited time is spent on things I can actually see progress in and not be set back to "0" because of some dumb luck. This is the sole reason I'm not flinging money at the game. Generally If I like a game, I support it, but NOT if I'm going to lose the very thing I bought.
Buy a backpack-> Keep backpack on alt so you don't lose it. WTF.... What kind of logic is this to not use the thing you paid for?

Much like Mortal Online, this game has a wonderful crafting system that I would LOVE to just play forever if I could.
I honestly and truly don't understand game designer's logic of "well let's add in some fun by making the game PVP because there's no such thing as a player who likes just crafting." *headesk*

You have it backwards. It's 'well let's make a permadeath game and give value to players by also providing a crafting system.'

Sorry, I have a hard time imagining a gave developer using the core mechanic (PVP) as something that can be coded in 10 minutes and the "extra stuff" (crafting system, skill gains) is ridiculously complex.

I don't think you've been playing the same game everyone else here has...

The crafting system and skill gains are super simple. :/
