Possible to not use Java?

I, and many others, have had horrible experiences with Java. In my case Java simply wont work, no matter how many reinstalls I do. I have tried just about everything, so I am sad to say that if Salem will continue to require Java, I wont be able to play it.

-Let me rephrase my question: Would it be possible to make Salem not use Java in the future? Maybe the way Jagex did it with RuneScape (although I have no clue as to what "that way" actually was. My knowledge in this area is somewhat murky).

-Nothing beyond Java acting like Java, but that is not your problem, now is it? And you have plenty of other more relevant things to do than to help me getting Java to work.

No, not really. If you are having a problem with the salem.jnlp, try using Ender's Client.

That's why we have this forum. No, we may not be able to help you get Java running, but we'll be glad to try.

As far as a route for the client other than Java... it won't happen at the present time. Maybe in a few years time or if someone steps up and creates a version that Paradox buys or licenses, but a 3rd party client in another language won't stay supported for long due to the tedious nature of client updates and code translation.
