Churches. Build them. Chase darkness away. Beware that these will in time come to require upkeep in the form of regular masses to be effective, so don't go and build a million of them that you won't be able to support. The implementation is rough but functional.

The Lumberwoods now have a new creature in all forest types, just past the edge where civilization ends. Beware, the creature is fearsome.

Fields can now be built on dirt. Sorry for that.

Update your clients, pl0x.

Enjoy!

Jorb I have been downed in the Darkness by a "Argo pelter". Just so the people know, they climb in trees and fling branches at you. The thing is, they become invisible and unable to attack? Also, he's got me and I am KO. But he keeps throwing the sticks at me, even when I'm at 0.0 blood. I don't respawn or anything, probably because he keeps attacking. Please help!!

The creature is fearsome indeed, but you forgot it's a bit bugged. I can't spawn anymore.. or did I really die this time.

Maybe you have to log out and wait for them to despawn or something

I can't log out at this time it says. It just keeps attacking, I see the damage but I don't have the blood for it :D. Meanwhile all the humours just drain like normal in the darkness.

It hits quite some damage and it's pretty random, ranging from 0.7 to 33.8. Since you can't see them in the tree (so it's hard) and due to my problem I recommend going around them for now :)

Thought people wanted a challenge?

(also my base not showing up on mini map? Using Enders... is this planned?)

I honestly really like these creatures, they aren't easy to find and taking them down is a matter of practice. It is much better than simply creating a bigger bear-type creature to farm. If you have the patience and humors its much more interesting for silver than grinding crickets.
