Allow the mayor to renounce through menu.

Forum for suggesting changes to Salem.

Allow the mayor to renounce through menu.

Add this option to Commonwealth & Government. Its silly to have to right click a bell to say you don't want to be mayor anymore.

In order to make sure someone doesn't accidentally click it, have a pop up of "Are you sure?" yes,no ect.

You would be able to create town, build stick fence, walk 2000 tiles away terraform build stick fence and wait... if raiders/rangers would drop waste-claim on your first town-hv you could drop second... repeat.

I really don't see how that would be an "abuse" of a game mechanic. An abuse of your coin purse maybe, but not of a game mechanic. After all, the important part of that whole statement is the player's claim. The town just mandates a waste claim go up to break in.

Im not sure how you could abuse something like that. Its a waste of 2500 silver for the person who wishes to abandon the bell. Let the bell stand open to be destroyed or claimed by whomever. So if someone is willing to put a waste down they still get what they want as the bell would still stand mayor-less.

Right now to drop few town bells you need few characters with 45 f&w prof and that costs time and resources after your suggestion single character could drop new town bell every 1 hours walk and build stick fence in like 15 minutes?
2500 silver is nothing when you got 5-10+ characters 200+ with good items to protect from raid when they are going to sleep?

This is no different from having 5-10 characters with town charters/compacts and constitutions. One places a town bell down they get a waste put down everyone vacates with there ****, the next character in line places next townbell. Rinse and repeat over an over.

It can already be abused like that. This just makes it so that people can renounce there bell from the menu instead of having to click on the damn bell. Why is it I can leave a town from anywhere but I can leave as the mayor?

Or you could add a 24 hour decay time on the bell once its exhausted. I don't care either way. But having to click on the bell even after authority reaches 0 to renounce being mayor is a PITA.

As a citizen you do as well, so I guess the mechanic needs to change so that as a citizen you need to leave the city the same way. Hell lets make everything happen at the bell. If you want to place a plot down in the city first you need to meet the mayor at the bell and both of you agree it is ok to place the pclaim in the town. If the mayor wants to kick out a thief or bad citizen they also need to meet at the bell and agree or the citizen has to be killed in order to remove them from the village.
