Only members can use the oldschool servers until a certain vote bracket is reached then they'll make f2p servers too

I never actually gave old/new runescape a try. Is it any good?

It's fun if you have pvp in mind :P
Read a few guides on pvp pures and hop in. Or just make a main account and do everything that interests you, either way it's entertaining

If you ask me, which I don't think you want to do (because I get a little rabid), I would say that the new version, with its action bars, gambling options (Squeal of Fortune) and onslaught of experience give-aways has ruined the game. There is no point in actually playing the game when you can buy spins and click on a damn button for xp-lamps that will boost your skills without ever having to set foot in the actual game. For me, this has ruined the whole point of playing, but apparently Jagex sees this differently.

The old game is much more of a grind, it has ugly graphics and has no option for easy trade (you have to yell in banks or go to specific trade worlds) - unlike the current version, which has the Grande Exchange where you can put up things for sale or buy items. It is not an auction house. Combat is afk friendly on old servers. Click a monster and you will auto attack until one of you is dead. EoC is supposedly balancing combat but for someone who liked the laid back game RS used to be, EoC is just a major pile of crap.

In essence, and this is my opinion, RS EoC version is just another version of every other action bar game available while the old servers are much more laid back and unique.

If you want more comparison, feel free to check out my article on Wizzley about Evolution of Combat. I've tried to make a fair comparison and explain the reasons many fans of RS give thumbs down (or middle fingers) to EoC RS.

Well, I could post a picture of myself but I doubt you'll believe me anyway. I'm not exactly feminine. Ah well.

Anyway... little over 400k votes and I think that will be it.
