Haven Error seatribe client

I've made a new character three different times. Each time an error message pops up. I've cleared the have cache and reinstalled the client three different times. I've tried downloading the ender client but it will not allow me. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

If you're crashing, you should get an error report. Could you copy/paste the exceptions tab? It might help with what exactly the problem is.

In the mean time, with what you describe, I would guess that it's one of two problems: you have a graphics driver issue and need to update it OR you have a security mechanism blocking the client from communicating with the server. With the security issue, make sure any security software you're running allows the connection with Java and/or Salem, ensure that Java and your Internet options aren't automatically blocking connections (settings should be "prompt user"), and make sure that traffic on ports TCP 1871 and UDP 1870 are open for traffic (both in security software and on any routers that traffic might pass through).

ive allowed the exceptions for both ports mentioned. as well as allwoing java. my drivers are all up to date. below is a copy of the error message i keep receiving.

GL Error: 1281 (invalid value)


Graphics card/driver problem. If you are sure that your graphics drivers are up to date you might want to try upgrading your operating system for more current driver support.

Also, find the specs of your GPU on the net somewhere and make sure it has support for openGL 2.0

If you're not entirely sure what card you have, there are several ways to find this out. You can also download a utility to test what versions of OpenGL your card supports. Several are available around the Net.

Note: Imrielle posted a nice summary of cards that support OpenGL 2.x: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=4467#p52453.

Flush out the Java cache. You have a corrupted file in there. This should fix it. If you seem to be having this problem frequently, there may be communication issues between the Salem server and your computer.
