New player server choice

Postby JeanRaconte » Fri Feb 22, 2013 8:20 pm

I'm new, where do I make a character to avoid the crazy indians?

Thanks.

The Tribe is mostly on Plymouth, but they are starting their crap in Roanoke as well now. Jamestown seems to be the best for staying away from them, but people don't seem to like Jamestown much, don't know why.

Might want to think about if you really want to avoid them. Plymouth is very good for people willing to pay the treaty. I'm rich, myself, from being a treaty payer.

Roanoke is mostly dominated by the Russians, who raid new players constantly. From what few threads we see about it, they seem to be a real scourge on the other players. And they don't communicate very much with anyone else.

Jamestown is very quiet, though I've gotten the impression it's also very boring. Nothing much happens there, to the point where a single player, Darwoth, is able to cause a lot of trouble all on his own.

Problem is, Plymouth is the only server with an active police force, and you would have a small claim anyways, which would be like 15 minutes of work paying the treaty.

Sure, you can noob around somewhere else, but when your brutally murdered after investing a month into your character, don't come crying on the forums about it.

If you dont want to be haresed by tribe in Plymuth you not only need to pay the treaty but also to go trough there reservation boot camp (where tribe **** all over you and theres a great chance to be killed by other boot camp members or just some angry guy that got pissed by tribe). So I belive the best choice for experiance you are looking for is Jamestown.

I feel like this is a horrible stereotype and observation of The Reservation. Some people are only forced to wear duckface masks and communicate in the native tongue of an Anatidae Anseriformes.

Wow, that's not how I remember it. It was a pclaim to put my leanto on and access to a sawbuck and smoker and such before I could afford them myself. If you're going to give advice in the help thread, at least try to be truthful.

I've not been through the bootcamp, but experiences are subjective, so he may be telling the truth from his perspective.

My opinion is either join the tribe or don't. Paying the treaty is just a waste of money as it might protect you from the tribe, it won't protect you from other players on the server that might see you as an easy target. If you are going to pick Plymouth to start on, choose one side or the other now.

Roanoke: You've got a couple of large factions warring there, but reports are there's a good bit of "wild" area a person could hermit in relatively quietly.

Jamestown: the lowest pop server, but you have a few guys there that don't even have the tribe's rules for whether you get roflstomped into the ground. They just do it because you're there.

Long story short: man up now or duck out.
