There is a housing skill called construction where you can make a home for yourself.

Also, http://www.runescape.com
I didn't want to link it initially because it may have actually been seen as advertising

ya know i never understood what was so great about RS :/ when i looked at it back in the early 2000s the graphics looked like poop and all i could find out on it was it was a huge grind like a really bad asian cookie cutter grinder :/

yet some of my friends are happy they are launching old servers.. more power to them i guess :/ game doesnt jump out at me like it does others i guess

On the topic of RuneScape, I used to be a member between 2005 and 2012 (oh the glorious Squeal of Fortune pushed me away) and I can honestly say 2006 or 2007 was not the best period of the game. I was fine with it until Andrew Gower sold his share and a certain equity partner took over. The game started drastically go down hill at the start of 2011.
I would be content if they added EoC and SoF free servers, but alas, Jagex are trying to come out as the rescuer after ***** up their product and having "Pride before fall" as their new motto.

I'm more eager to see what will happen in Australia in regards to the currently flawed laws of online gambling that Jagex are currently (ab)using.

Indeed, I played from 2003-2004ish and then on and off after 2008. It's just not the same. I'm pretty butthurt that barrows armor and weapons are in the new servers tbh.
Rune skimmy + dds was best imo. The game totally went for a **** though. To the point where a selling feature for being a member is "NO ADS INGAME!" Really? I tried the new game on members when I signed up for the new servers to see how far it'd fallen and I still got ads. Not to mention there was 300ish people on all servers when there used to be 1k+/full worlds at nearly all hours of the day before.

Jagex is clearly just in it for the money these days. Unfortunately, they still believe that the majority of their customers are dense 14 year olds who can't see through what's going on.
I will be utterly amused if the 2007 servers have a greater population than the current 300 people on each server (except world 1 & 2?).

One thing that makes me wonder though, did the RS2006 crew have any connection to Jagex, however small, and built up the expectations for RS2006/2006Scape only to shut it down in order for Jagex to "take over"?! Paranoia and conspiracy theories at its finest. :?

Oh, and have fun playing. I doubt you'll see me there any time soon. It depends on what the future will bring.

I'm mostly just enjoying clue scroll hunting :)
My combat level is like 9 or something while some people already have crazy crap. One guy had like 40 in all skills after like 7 hours of the servers being up... No idea how that's even possible :s

Never could get into it, but yeah, those population numbers look like and the dev attitudes sound like another game I've played in the past. It's a good sign of burn-out on the development cycle and they would be better off closing it if it weren't for a dedicated following that'd cry like banshees.

I remember seeing a report of how the upper management doesn't allow for open creativity and is more concerned with making more money with RS rather than releasing more content.

And as far as games go, for the money RS makes/has made to not have any other subsequent games makes them look horrible as devs.
