Indication of how much dirt you're carrying.

Postby Hans_Lemurson » Thu Feb 21, 2013 1:07 am

It would be nice to have some sort of indication as to how much dirt you are carrying so you can plan clay production more effectively. I only need 8 clay for a pot, but if I dig more than that, then I have to find somewhere to dispose of my excess dirt that's NOT on my perfectly flat homestead!

I don't think this is needed. All people who play this game can count. It's easy to see if you took 1 dirt. You can dispose dirt wherever you took it.

I disagree. I play this game and I have trouble keeping track of exactly how much dirt I've gathered (hence my suggestion).

1 Dirt is easy to keep track of, sure, but 8? Are you sure that wasn't just 7? There's no way of knowing until you try to make clay, or run short when trying to fill in a ditch.

So what you get then, is in effect, this, but with a bit less drama (maybe a bit more?):

That Dirty Harry quote was exactly what went through my mind when writing, but I couldn't figure out a good way to make the joke at the time.

How about:

Dirt-y Harry wrote: I know what you're thinking. Did I dig up 8 pieces of dirt, or only 7? Well to tell you the truth, in all this shovelling, I kind of lost track myself. But this being a clay-trough you placed too far away from your designated digging area, and the terrain nearby already being perfectly flat, you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well do ya, punk?

Your making it totally wrong then..

you get 15 stacks of mud > Make clay.

Put clay into kiln sign post (next to troth). fill sign post.

40 clay in sign post = 5 pots made.

If you bring in the other mats pre-hand and put in sign post close by, its all gravy.

Yeah, but I still want to KNOW how much I'm carrying! :D I don't want to have to depend on "Can't carry any more" to only tell me that I have 15.

If your carrying too much, press/type :lo to log out.

Log back in, and dirt your carrying has mystically vanished.

Takes about 3 seconds for me to relog, i often do this when im leveling land if i need to lower it slightly, its x100 faster than using a sled / relocating it.

I believe that bug was fixed, but I'm not sure. It just blocks the tile you're supposed to log in on, until someone moves it.

Idea: "I want to know how much dirt I'm carrying"

Replies: "You have no reason to want to know that."
