I feel like you should have mentioned to everybody that one of your walls was split rail and exactly how you positioned those braziers lol :)

Protection from other players is fun. But I guess you had more fun losing all your hard work. To each their own I guess.

It's all good, all part of the game. We held to the principal that paying someone for "protection" is extortion and we had none of it. We died. In fact, I'm not positive we wouldn't have died had we paid.

Anyway, I've been searching for a UO-like game for the better part of a decade, and this is the closest I've found. It's not quite there, but hopefully in another year it'll be balanced and new players will feel like they have a chance at success without succumbing to the extortion by the established "tribe".

Yup we were newbs, exactly like I said. Those new players of us just don't stand a chance. And mistakes in this game mean start over from the very beginning. So Ya, that's why it's not really new player friendly. or even really that possible for new players to become established.

You could also try to not suck and not cluster all your braziers out of range of your walls and run more than 5 fields for humours. But I understand that complaining about the supposed imbalance is much easier so maybe you should stick with that.

Yup, all newb mistakes. As I've said a few times, we were newbs. And this thread is all about how the game is not new player friendly. Thank you for continuing to prove that.

So your saying its impossible for a new player to not educate themselves to common sense base building? While it may seem impossible for your to build something that reflects intelligent design I do not feel your generalization that it is impossible for ALL new players to be intelligent is necessarily fair.

Funny how the chief finds his voice again after finding some noob base to destroy. You really should just get back to your scalping thread because you don't really have anything to prove in this one, nor are you adding to the discussion in any way what so ever.

I doubt that. The OP was attempting to make it seem as though he was helpless to the situation. Luckily I was here to get him to to acknowledge that the faults and failure of his base were a reflection of his inability to build one more than any game mechanics that need adjustments.

I said next to impossible, and the reason for that is because by the time new players figure out all the ins and outs of the game, someone crushes them.

Plus there are countless pics on the forums of large seemingly well defended bases being destroyed. How a newb is supposed to figure out all the game mechanics to build a successful defense is beyond me.

Also from what I can tell, there's no way I could have had high enough purity food by this point to get my blood high enough to take a single 81 damage hit (which is what your hits do btw) let alone more than one.
