nah, I would say you still need more than 1 (or 2 or 3) walls with braziers behind them...You just cant put them within splash range of each other to get the full effect. This in turn takes more planning, and costs more money as you will have a much larger claim to expand and upkeep.

theres other ways to build bases now with the current system but as its still far too new and untested im not going to suggest it until this splash system is more set in stone. but there are ways to prevent splash damage i think. havent had time to invest in testing it fully. im waiting to find out if splash is finalized now or still only 10-25% flushed out.

while a solid wall of blazers would be semi effective the costs of that coupled with the requirement to expand surplus tiles be it V or P claim to prevent offtile splash :/ i dont see 100% hermits investing 1000 iron in to blazer walls lolol least not yet... i know i sure as hell wouldnt

I might build multi walls, like three spaced out, and there'll be farms in between them. Seems like the best use of space and security to me.

This is the most stupid game mechanic I have ever seen.

this wall ?

Easy fix: walls only cause splash damage to same type walls with the same radius. Idea is that if you stack stone, plank, stone, plank it doesn't create four walls but two thus still partially achieving the goals.

Other option: damage is in hp to the next wall based on the wall type. If someone destroys a cheaper fence, it will only do a very small amount of damage relatively.

Really blowing my mind here devs. You guys set the game up so that stacking walls was the most productive way to go about base defense. Without any warning that this would change, then bam go in the opposite direction....? lol k thats whatever, but then you make mistakes like letting wood walls break higher tier walls... not like you guys at all. HnH and Salem have always had a really cool realistic feel (kept me coming back for more), but **** like this just makes me wanna uninstall and never look back... sloppy programming and decision making... I have a ***** the size of Texas for you guys and all the work you've done, but come on lets get real.

I think it needs to be noted that stacked walls such as was used was never an intended use of defense mechanics. If it was, it wouldn't have been nerfed. So far I haven't seen a reasonable suggestion about how else to fix multi-layered walls.

The whole thing started because braziers weren't firing the first time someone attacked the claim. However, given current wall strengths, I really don't see that fix alone as really changing anything.

I don't see why splash should be nerfed again or removed. Everyone is in the same boat with outdated base design. Just build new bases according to the new mechanics when you are building a new base. It's not That bad. I kinda like how new players finally have a bit of advantage here since we haven't built huge bases yet. I already know how I'm going to continue my expansion to take advantage of the new mechanics. I, for one, am glad I won't need more than a couple walls.

Building base according to new mechanics? Like leaving 5 tiles gap between walls and digging "moats" between them so that raiders can't detonate the walls with stick-fences?
