Tree stumps.

Postby L33LEE » Mon Feb 04, 2013 11:10 am

Just witnessed a tree stump instantly turn into an old stump within <1s of chopping the tree down.

Trying to recreate, possible bug ?

Any other people ever seen this ?

From my experience the conversion rate has been increased greatly somewhere in the last month. Most likely it's based on decay ticks like everything else and as we know those happen more or less at random, so I'd say it's just luck and not really a bug since there doesn't appear to be a real decay timer on those stumps.

Just think of it like you chopped down an already very rotten tree.

So looks like it just needs one decay tick to decay a stump. Good to know, but as Myrdred points out, not really a bug. It might be a balance isssue. I've never chopped up an old stump for blocks so don't know if they're worth less than a regular stump. They're too useful for everything else.

They're easier to smash, but not enough so to really be important. The amount of blocks is the same, though there is a random factor in each stump.
