If you know your history pots and pans actually aren't needed to boil things. You (and this is doable in game if they want to implement it!) basically set some rocks in a fire (left click rock, right click fire) wait like an hour, come back and get it out with a stick (left click branch, right click fire. Get hot stone inplace of branch, so branch is "consumed" in usage) and then right click a leather bag (or bucket) full of water. The hot stones boil the water, add egg to boiling water and voila. Boiled egg.
