The issue is being unable to summon people because because they could just build a new simple fence enclosure for their lean to when the waste claim on their current is about to activate. Locking down homesteads would prevent such easy escape.

I change my homestead at least 5 times in day, to do my work faster. Cooldown is a bad idea, also as locking homestead. Prison at cost of 2 bars ...

I'm so never going to be able to do criminal acts. I get lost with all the sneaky stuff you guys do to get out of stuff...lol.

Great work. This i am very pleased with this update, and is a very strong step in the right direction.

Being able to pillage single claims is a very good shot, and being apart of a village requires a waste claim is spot on.

If a hermit wants extra security im sure they can fund a solo bell for themselves.

Oh, by the way, what is stopping raiders from building villages to freely raze and plunder people that aren't in villages (thus gaining back the silvers spent) well knowing that attacking them isn't worth the investment (2500 silvers, not to talk about the materials involved)?

An advanced hermit has a town claim any way, I you can't afford a town bell then you won't be able to retaliate against a strong raider regardless as setting a town claim is usually the final part of building an already heavily fortified vault.

So every single people that isn't already in a village must build a village to protect themselves from raiders, you say. Oh silly me, how couldn't have i thought about that before?

Are we still talking about realism, by the way?

With or without this update, there was always a chance you'd get Town Belled by someone else if you didn't have your own.

In RL if you find island and claim it as yours, you are only person who can protect it!
But if you move in to town you are protected by town community and authority that gave "town status" (The King! in Salem times).
Imho it is realistic approach, but it will make newbies cry when any faction will get bored.
