Timeout on Login

Hi there,

I can play Salem at home. But at work it semms like the client cant connect to the servers. I tried Tracert on the salem servers but i cant get any further than our company proxy. Any ideas? I can play browsergames and such and have unlimited intenet accesss...

Obviously your company is blocking certain ports / preventing access to the server. Not much you can do really.

Cant i reroute everything thru an open port somehow?

Vibe is right, they'll have some top of the **** firewallls preventing attacks from hackers

I mention this only as a possiblity. A warning before you read further: Some companies will fire employees for abuse of the network if they're caught playing games, etc. on it. The following may be possible, but may also be seen as a hack attempt. In some cases and jurisdictions, it may also result in civil or criminal prosecution.

You may be able to use a proxy, Virtual Private Network (VPN), or a virtual desktop to either bypass their security or run a program (in this case Salem) off your desktop at home. I'm not an expert at setting these things up, so don't ask me for instructions. There's guides on the Internet and there might be someone here willing to explain it, but I'm not going to point you.

If you know one of your companies IT guys, talk to them. If you know your company is fine with a little goofing off at work as long as the work is complete, talk to your supervisor. It'll get you a lot farther than trying to force your way through.
