I am a hypocrite and i'll happily admit it, i also fall into alot of categories people call me on this forum, at the end of the day, who cares ?

I surely do not.

Mhm. Quite a few of your posts say otherwise, but ok. :)

I appreciate the admission though - means I can ignore what you say on the subject in future. :D

Do not get me wrong, im still strongly against the legal use of mods, i would love for them to be made illegal on salem. Untill then as i said, ill use them, because i do not want to fall behind the competition.

You seem to be drastically missing my point.

You can not say "i'm still strongly against the legal use of mods", then use them yourself simply because it benefits you and then expect people to take you seriously. In doing so you have completely rendered your argument against the use of them invalid. (Not to mention your 'dissing' of those that do use them!)

Why on earth do you think the people who do use them, use them? C'mon, lol.

I'm afraid if you strongly believe in your convictions and you want people to take notice of what you are saying then you just have to stand by those convictions.

There are no 'two ways' about it. :)

clearly i do have two ways about it, you seem to just refuse my methodology.

Now please, stick to the topic on hand, my views on modded clients is not apart of this thread.

Seriously, that's your response?

You brought your views on modded clients into the thread, which I then commented on and you then freely entered into a discussion with me, now you are claiming derailment because you failed to make a valid point?

However, it is your thread, I respect that and as I have made my point i'll happily desist. :)

I'm sorry, I've failed to understand your meaning here. But, if you want to, you can pm me an explination to prevent further derailment.

Edit: On reflection, I think you are just reminding me you have already admitted to being a hypocrite. so, ok. :)

No one's responded here in a month, but this thread is relevant to my interests, and the whole thing was a mass of mudslinging that never addressed the opening post anyway. I'm not sure if I should just open a new thread for this, but yeah. All L33lee asked is if it would be possible to embed Salem into a browser, not if it would be better, and not if we should all mass-convert from a client to browser.. so I'll ask again. Would it be possible?

Minecraft is a good example of a java game that has (pretty much always) had a browser and a downloadable client that both are able to connect to the same multiplayer servers, but that's IP based, not a massive server, so I'm not sure if it could be done as easily.

Regardless of how well it would run, or if playing on the base client or ender's client would be better, it would be nice for, let's say, 'devoted' players to be able to log in at work, on mobile devices, or on otherwise locked computers.
