My client crashes when lightning objects are on screen

Postby Nikixos » Fri Jan 25, 2013 8:49 pm

I found out that the problem causing my crashes happen when a lightning source is on screen, a fireplace a pile of wood turned on i know this because i can't enter the game until these are gone :(
Can developers add an option to turn lightning off?
I'm running the game on a low spec computer
processor 1.6ghz
1gb of ram
integrated intel 3150

Same basic issue as with this thread: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3897

Either the smoke or the lighting is the culprit. The only possible solution right now is to try to find updated graphics drivers for your system. If you're on still on Win XP, there may not be recent drivers that will fix the issue.

I would ask that you let us know what graphics chip set and drivers you're using. This has come up before and so far only one or two specific cards have had the problem.

Have you searched for a third party XP driver? Intel dropped any XP driver support a few years ago. If upgrading to Vista or Win 7 is possible, there may be working drivers available. Check out this thread about fixes for cards that are having issues: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=96&start=50

Thank you very much for your answers and time :D
i have found that the problem is actually the smoke animations because coal clamps when burning do not make fire animation but smoke animations instead, on the thread you posted it says "graphics errors on smoke animations--Link to the fix." but there is no link? Thank you i will keep searching while waiting for your answer :)

Man, thought I fixed that post. It is supposed to link to an article copied from Paradox Plaza a couple down. Anyway, I gave you the wrong link. Since I have it open, here's the link to the original article with the problem of the smoke animation: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/sho ... ed-by-FIRE

The issue, as you discovered, is caused by the smoke particle animation. If you have a Paradox account, that forum is closed but publicly viewable. Feel free to try to continue or start the conversation back up here.
